I am writing to share good news following our homelessness resolution being selected as one heading to the national convention in Winnipeg – specifically, the good news in the Times Colonist, Saanich News, Oak Bay News, and on CFAX and CBC.
The 2016 Federal Budget also includes funding for affordable housing, homelessness, and a commitment to develop a homelessness strategy, which strengthens and complements the case we’re making in Victoria.
Sending a Liberal MP from Victoria to Ottawa in 2019 is a vital way to champion these and other important initiatives, but it takes resources to run a campaign. However, we do not want to rely heavily on expensive fundraising events that are out of reach for many people. Instead, we want to raise money in ways that keep costs (e.g. events with visiting Ministers) low so they’re accessible to the greatest number of people. Please stay tuned for more events and news from us as we push this issue at the National Convention in May.
In the meantime, I’d love to hear from all members of our community. Please email me at email@example.com.
